We
thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Massing open air museum earlier in the trip
and I spotted that there was similar museum in Illerbeuren, devoted to Swabian
rural life. We arrived in Illerbeuren at lunch time and parked up in a deserted
museum car park where we were allowed to stay for up to three nights without charge.
Although there were no facilities, we are self-contained and that wasn’t going
to be a problem.
We could have gone to the museum in the afternoon but there are more than 30
buildings and we felt that we needed to devote the whole of tomorrow to it.
