I walked through the park to a bakery titled ‘The Old Oven’,
which wasn’t old but did have good bread.
We followed the satnav, heading for Saint Leon sur Vezere and just before we
got there we came across troglodytic caves in the cliffs. These are very common
in this area and here there was a commercial site, La Roque Saint-Christophe,
that gave access to the prehistoric caves that were occupied for nearly 55,000
years with their golden age being in the Middle Ages. Here we found a free aire
set in a shady valley with space for 200 vans. We decided to stay there for the
night but there were only four other vans.
