We walked into the city again today equipped with coats and
umbrellas as the forecast suggested that there was likely to be more rain in
the afternoon. We went to the old bazaar again, just in case there would be
music and dancing today, but the stage had been removed. This time we had the
opportunity to wander around the bazaar and I fell to temptation and bought
three metal containers used to cook pies and casseroles in wood-fired ovens. We
visited the building that housed not just the first girls’ school in Albania
but the first in the Balkans. We wandered around the old part of the city
beyond the very impressive, modern cathedral and then headed back to the
campsite. And the day was rain-free!

oven and fire on which all meals were cooked; One of the streets in the Old
Bazaar; The rather pleasant building of the girls’ school; The cathedral.
