Our
coldest morning so far at 1.5°C and
another day when we just relaxed. I did get out to collected bread from the
bakery in the town. The bakers were on holiday until today so, although there
was plenty of bread on offer, they were distinctly lacking in cakes. Just as
well really as German cakes are delicious and far too tempting.
On the campsite building there is a large painting of a Roman(?) soldier pouring
water onto a burning building. I was intrigued as to why it was there and asked
when I went to stay. The language barrier made it difficult but, as I
understood it, the grandfather of the current owners was the top man in the
local fire station and he was the one who also established the campsite.
