Monday 10th September 2007

Went on our first real walk of the Odyssey. The trails appeared to be very clearly marked, so we didn't buy a map. However, they were not quite as clear as we anticipated, so we took a slightly different route! Ended up in Neiderbronn and went to the archaeological museum. This was very well presented and we had the whole museum to ourselves. Neiderbronn has thermal baths and they were in use in Roman times, therefore lots of Roman finds both from the baths and other sites such as a temple to Mercury. Also interesting displays and finds of the many local castles. Back to the site for a relaxing evening after the long walk. Jane cooked salmon with a dish of Alsace SpƤtzles – a type of doughy pasta. The combination was excellent and went down very well.
