The lack of gated level crossings means that the trains sound their horns very frequently on their journey through Horni Plana. Fortunately, there appeared to only be one train during the night, at approximately 5 am and that didn't disturb us too much.
Decided to spend another day at Horni Plana so that we could have a walk around the lake. The start of the walk took us round three sides of a very picturesque sewerage works with accompanying fragrance! After that it got much better with excellent lake views and a walk through the forest on a promontory into the lake. Lots of fungi to spot and many fishing positions on the edge of the lake where the fishermen had obviously barbecued their fish fresh from the lake. I have never been interested in fishing but barbecued really fresh fish does sound attractive.
