The next morning we all
walked up the hill, lead by Seb, to his school arriving for 08:30.
This was an excellent constitutional and got us moving early, leaving
the rest of the morning to investigate the area. This we did,
visiting a park on the shore at the western end of the lake within
Zurich city on Wednesday and the pretty lakeside village of
Rapperswill on Thursday. It was lovely to find that Swiss parents are
happy for their children to walk to and from school on their own from
an early age and Seb did the same arriving back shortly after
mid-day. In the afternoons Henry slept and this gave us time to play
with Seb. The flat has a large patio and a grass area that gives a
play space for the children. It also provides a wonderful area for
barbecues, outdoor eating (which we did on Tuesday with Josh
excelling on the barbecue) and for relaxing and drinking in that
wonderful view, which we did frequently and I would happily do again
at any time.
We had a fantastic time
with Caroline, Josh and the boys, they really are a lovely family and
we were very grateful that they put up with us for the duration. We
hope that we will be able to repay the compliment in the near future
if they are able to visit us in Somerset.

Somerset, close to where we live; Martin assists Caroline in
