On the road before 09:00, we stopped for cheap Luxembourg
diesel (€1.44/l) before crossing the border back into France. It was a much
better journey than yesterday – lots of motorway driving but no delays. Lovely
scenery kept us interested and there were many vineyards after we exited the
Colmar Tunnel into Alsace-Lorraine. We were happy to pay the €10 toll for the
tunnel to avoid the longer Colmar Pass that was popular with motorcyclists .
I had purchased a Swiss e-Vignette yesterday that is registered to the vehicle
registration rather than having to purchase a physical sticker at the border.
This made the entry into Switzerland very simple and we were soon on our way
through lovely scenery to our campsite at Mierskappel. The campsite is a
working farm and we received a very warm welcome when we arrived. The pitches
were very cramped, reminiscent of Italian sites but we were only staying for
one night, so that wasn’t a problem. The shower block was definitely of a good
standard and there was a restaurant if we wanted it.

when the cows had been moved to new pasture.
