Leaving our very windy campsite we headed through Paimpol
and out to the viewpoint at Pointe de l’Arcouest. This was quite stunning with
lovely views over estuary, sea and islands. Moving on, we tried and failed to
find a tidal mill marked on our AA map but did drive through some lovely
hamlets and villages and past beautiful houses.
We arrived at the aire in Treguier in time to do some exploring. It is a starred aire in our Vicarious Books ‘All the Aires of France’ book, which means that they think that it is very good. We must agree with them! It doesn’t have water and the toilet dumping facilities are very poor but its position is fantastic. It is on the edge of a tidal river with views up and down the river and it is an easy walk up to the town. We took a walk up the river to a pedestrian bridge before walking down the other side to cross back over the road bridge – a lovely short walk.
