A long day of driving today, starting on major roads through
the mountains followed by lots of paid motorway driving along flat roads. The
route took us up the east coast of Italy and then inland past Bologna and Modena
before turning north up to Trento when the mountains started to close in from
both sides. A longer drive today means that we will be able to drive through
Austria tomorrow for an overnight stop in Germany.
We stopped in a paid aire on the outskirts of Trento.
