The campsite has been full every day that we have been here
and we were glad that we booked in advance to guarantee our pitch. We heard
Tula turning people away, including two vans whose Austrian owners were
insisting that their vans would fit on the available pitches. Tula pointed out
that she knew that they wouldn’t!
I chatted to the very amiable Manolis and asked him when he was going to buy
the land next to the campsite so that he could expand. Next week, hopefully ,he
said. He has been trying to buy it for 15 years but he thinks that it might
happen next week. I hope that he succeeds – he and Tula run the campsite really
well and have made a great success of it.
I went out for a short bike ride and got some shopping from a supermarket in
the main village on the other side of the Krathis River that runs down next to
the campsite. I bought a pre-cooked, spit-roasted chicken that was excellent
with Patates Lemonates (Greek roasted lemony potatoes) and courgettes.
Photos: Our pitch is on the left, the restaurant on the right and the beach is
straight ahead.
