There was rain overnight and small showers in the morning. When
it stopped raining, Jane decided to do some washing using the campsite washing
machine. That made it rain but, fortunately it had stopped by the time that the
washing was finished and it didn’t rain for the rest of the day.
We spent most of the day relaxing, reading and blog writing but we did go for a
walk along the beach. Jane had noticed that a section of the beach is a protected
area for loggerhead turtle nesting. We walked along and Jane soon spotted a
hole in the beach. Once we had seen one, we started spotting lots of them and
some still had the shells of the eggs that the hatchlings had emerged from
before they scurried down the beach to the sea. It must be a fantastic sight.
In the season of egg-laying and hatching, volunteers guard the beach and there
is an information stand but now that all of the turtles have hatched, the stand
has been removed.

An intriguing ‘Seatrac’ that is designed to allow disabled people to access the
sea – a great idea, I wonder whether it works?
