We were heading for Austria but decided that we wanted a stop
in Germany and from the ACSI book we chose Camping Salem. Salem is above
Bodensee (Lake Constance) and has its own small lake within walking distance of
the campsite.
The campsite contrasted strongly with Camping Vauban. It was rigidly organised
with relatively small pitches and was very busy. We were lucky to get one of
the last pitches. The sanitary block was very modern and very clean and there
was a bar and restaurant. We managed to choose the two days of the week when
the restaurant was closed! After a very hot day (again!) we had just a little
rain in the evening. Perhaps it was going to cool down a little?
