We weren’t even out of Rumelange before we entered France
and we headed across country to the Rhine and Camping Vauban at Neuf-Brisach.
As normal, we plotted a route that avoided motorways were possible and found
some lovely scenery, especially in the hills of Haut Rhin.
Camping Vauban is one of those casual campsites with no formal pitches – you simply
find somewhere that like and hook-up to the nearest electric point. It was
still very hot and we scoured the site for somewhere with some shade and found
one that would give us some shade at most times of the day.
