Saturday 8th September 2007

After a lazy start, we set off for the 'Parc Naturel Regional des Vosges du Nord'. Travelling is all about the journey and this was a very interesting one. Beautiful Germanic / French villages often with very German names and mixed architecture. We are in Alsace and it really is a complete mixture. Many of the older inhabitants use German as their first language, but definitely consider themselves to be French. Jane spotted the first stork of our travels in one of those pretty villages.
We decided that we needed a multi-day stop (we are really slowing down now) and after a circumnavigation of the park, we chose a site on the Northern edge of Neiderbronn-les-Bains called Camping Heiderkopf. We booked in for 3 nights at a total cost of €40.31.
