A lovely day – cool in the morning but the sun soon warmed it up. Walked directly from the campsite and, rather than taking the short circular route, we decided to walk to the village of Wolfach, approximately 11 – 12 km. The walk was almost entirely in the forest with a tough, steep climb from the site until the path levelled out and finally descended into the outskirts of the town. Wolfach was a very attractive town, site of a former castle and with lots of old buildings. Returned by train to Halbmeil.
